模考45 Task 6
Sample Answer
Well, the professor presents a lecture on how production of electricity benefits certain fish. The first advantage is that fish uses electricity to catch food and survive. For instance, the moment the electric eel touches some other tiny fish swimming by, it gives out powerful electric current. Then the teeny fish are shocked and paralyzed, later ending up as the eel’s food. The second benefit is to find directions. For example, since the deep ocean is too dim and unclear for knifefish, a kind of fish with bad vision, to see what’s ahead, it forms an electric field around its body, which serves as a sensor to facilitate its perception of the surroundings. If there’s an object in its way when the fish swims, its electric field will be disturbed and the fish is informed of the blockage, then dodges the object to evade danger. In a word, these are the two benefits brought by fish’s electricity.
