模考44-T2
Some people believe that primary schools should no longer teach children how to write by hand, and instead should spend time teaching them how to type on a computer. Other people believe that it is still important for schools to teach children to have good handwriting. Which point of view do you agree with? Explain why.
· Topic sentence-still important to teach them how to write
· Reason 1 : there’re situations when people have to write
Development 1(example): signing a contract or jotting down notes without your computer with you
· Reason 2: Practicing writing helps a child learn vocabulary words, sentence structure, spelling, and story structure, which all help in building a stronger reader
Development 2 (example): my cousin who reads extensively now: started when he was taught to write by hand
Sample Answer:
For me, I back up the latter idea. It’s still important to teach kids to write by hand. For one, there’re always situations when people have to write. Just like you’re signing a contract or jotting down notes without your computer with you. Knowing how to write is such a necessity at this moment.
For another, as far as I know, writing and reading go hand-in-hand. Practicing writing helps a child learn vocabulary words, sentence structure, spelling, and story structure, which all help in building a stronger reader. This is so true for my cousin who reads extensively now. This all started when he was taught to write by hand.
