Your university plans to restrict the use of internet to research only and to no longer allow access to personal e-mail and social media websites on library computers. Do you think this is a good idea? Explain why or why not.

I think the university should restrict the use of internet to research only. Firstly, this can increase students’ learning efficiency. If students are able to get access to social media websites like WeChat, Twitter, or Facebook, they will spend their time chatting with friends, or even browsing some video websites like YouTube. In that case, it will lower their learning efficiency. And the other reason is that this can actually free up some library spaces for students who really need them, so library won’t always be so packed. Students who need to do research can easily find a spot.
